Start up both machines.
On the PC open up Windows Media Player and right-click on "Now Playing". Select "More options..." and a grey dialogue box will pop up.
Select the "Library" tab and click on the "Configure Sharing..." button.
Another grey dialogue box will pop up. Make sure the "Share my media to:" box is ticked and select your Xbox 360 from the list below. Click the "Allow" button. Click "OK" and this pop up will close.
Now click the "Monitor Folders..." button. A grey pop up dialogue appears. Select your preferred folder option and click "OK". This takes a short while to analyze your folders and files. Now click "Close".
On your Xbox 360 navigate to your Video Library. Select your PC from the source list then navigate to your file of choice and away you go.
